THE CLIENT.

Plug and Play is the world's largest Open Innovation platform: it connects startups and corporations, invests in emerging technologies, and generates value by networking companies, ideas, and opportunities in more than 60 cities in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Founded in 2006 in Silicon Valley by the intuition of Saeed Amidi, it has seen the birth of giants such as Google, PayPal and Dropbox right inside the well-known Lucky Building.

Today, with a network exceeding 90,000 startups, 570 corporations, and more than $12 billion invested, Plug and Play is an essential partner in the development of the most strategic sectors of the global economy-from sustainability to automotive, aerospace to defense, and infrastructure.

Plug and Play has been present In Italy since 2019, with offices in Milan, Modena, Turin and Catania. Acceleration programs touch on transforming market segments: Food & Beverage, Fintech, Smart Cities, Sustainability, Energy, Health, Automotive, Aerospace and Defense with the support of institutional and industrial partners such as CDP Venture Capital, Eni, Barilla, Leonardo, Saipem and many others.

THE GOALS.

Plug and Play Italy approached Disclosers with the goal of telling its complexity while simplifying it. The structure-already large and entrenched-needed a single direction to:

  • Consolidate the international, national, local and industry media presence of some vertical programs;
  • Launch new initiatives in coordination with partners, clients and startups;
  • Enhance the role of corporate partners, customers, and accelerated startups;
  • Create moments of visibility for top management, especially at corporate events.

These are all activities that need to be carefully built especially on the B2B and corporate front, requiring vision, strategy and the ability to weave relationships in depth.

The partnership with Plug and Play began in March 2024 and continues today.

THE STRATEGIC SCHEME

Plug and Play is not a brand to be communicated, it is an ecosystem to be brought to life. For this, we built from the beginning an ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders: from internal teams to accelerated startups, from historical partners to new stakeholders, part of the innovation paths.

One of the most important stages is the Italy Summit, a corporate event that gathers investors, companies, institutions and startups around technology challenges every year. 

Here we worked to bring the press inside the ecosystem: thanks to Discovery Tours, journalists were able to observe startups up close, question and solicit them, talk to corporate partners, meet the founders, and breathe in the global vision of Plug and Play's Italian headquarters also represented by personalities such as Michael Jackson, a well-known Venture Capitalist.

We shone a spotlight on the strategic sectors in which Plug and Play is active-aerospace, defense, infrastructure, energy-and its role in fostering impactful innovation through Open Innovation and an ongoing bet on new technologies.

The strategy embraced required precision in coordination, speed of reaction, and an extensive network of national, industry, and local media contacts (Milan, Turin, Catania primarily).

RESULTS.

PR and media relations work, which has brought more than 360 press releases in the past year, has produced results on many levels:

  • International: presence in global newspapers and publishing circuits such as Tech Acute and Yahoo;
  • National: coverage in authoritative business and tech media such as Ansa, Teleborsa, Forbes, Fortune, Panorama, Sole 24 Ore, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, Milano Finanza, Rai, EconomyUp, StartupItalia and Startup Business;
  • By sector: we have activated and consolidated relationships with vertical media, from deep tech topics to aerospace, defense and infrastructure;
  • Local: enhancement of territorial offices and partners, with attention to the specificities of the Turin, Milan and Catania offices.

Plug and Play today is perceived as a valuable interlocutor for Italian companies seeking innovation, thanks in part to the support of institutional stakeholders such as CDP Venture Capital and academic entities such as the Polytechnic University of Turin and beyond.

Our activities have helped position the Italian office as an authoritative reference point, well connected to Silicon Valley but deeply embedded in the Italian context, capable of bringing new projects, technologies and innovation to the market.
