The Circle è a Roman aquaponic farm founded in 2017 by Valerio Ciotola, Simone Cofini, Lorenzo Garreffa, and Thomas Marino, four young entrepreneurs who saw aquaponics as a scalable business model capable of responding in concrete ways to some of today's major environmental challenges.
The Circle's production site combines technological innovation and sustainability: the system saves about 180 liters of water per kg of product and to reduce annually 33,000 kg of CO₂ emissions., completely eliminating the use of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
Today, The Circle is well established and operates the largest aquaponic facility in Europe, an area of nearly 15,000 m² in which different varieties of salads, herbs and baby leaves are grown above ground and using an innovative method.
In addition, in early November 2025, the company expanded its business, focused on supplying fresh HORECA products, with the Launch of a line of processed products (pestos, oils and flavored salts), which marked the official entry into the large-scale retail and international trade market.
WHY THEY APPROACHED US: THE GOALS
The collaboration between Disclosers and The Circle began in 2022, when the company felt the need to strengthen its visibility and to tell in a structured way an ambitious entrepreneurial project that, in just a few years, had shown steady growth. Despite having an innovative production model and a concrete and significant environmental impact, The Circle did not yet have a media presence that lived up to its potential: it needed a structured communication strategy capable of enhancing its mission, achievements, and commitment to the environment.
For this reason, The Circle has chosen Disclosers as its PR partner, with the goal of building a clear, credible and recognizable positioning in the Agritech and sustainability landscape.
Our press office activities have focused primarily on the awareness generation, taking action on both the corporate narrative and the narrative related to the environmental issues at the heart of the company's mission.
The goal of our press office activity has thus been twofold: on the one hand, to establish The Circle as an authoritative reality and pioneer of aquaponics in Italy and Europe; on the other, to make it a point of reference for public debate on crucial issues such as soil and air pollution, water waste, raw material quality and, more generally, alternative low-impact production models.
With this in mind, our work has aimed to. Ensure broad and continuous media coverage, constantly offering the media interviews and insights related to current issues, so as to further strengthen the positioning of the company and its founders and insert it with credibility into the most relevant conversations in the industry.
THE PR & MEDIA RELATIONS STRATEGY
The PR strategy developed for The Circle is designed to. Maximize the company's visibility through a steady and qualified flow of publications (articles, interviews, features and in-depth reports), in national, vertical and industry publications.
The goal has been to Position the company among the most influential players in agritech and establish it as a credible voice on topical environmental issues. To do this, we combined the production of press releases with targeted pitching work, offering the media interviews, insights and comments related to relevant moments in the calendar, from World Water Day to Fish Day or Earth Day, so as to insert ourselves early into public conversations that were already open.
Over time we have worked on different narrative strands: from telling the story of the startup's growth (new investments, funding rounds, facility expansion, and new hires) to more lifestyle content capable of tapping into generalist audiences and further expanding The Circle's visibility.
The strategy has evolved along with the company: while in the early years it was essential to explain what aquaponics is and to publicize The Circle's production model, today, thanks to the notoriety gained, our work focuses mainly on producing in-depth expert insights, positioning the team as an authoritative interlocutor on topical issues, and on communicating strategic news, such as the recent launch of the processed product line that marked the company's entry into the B2C market.
The next steps will be a press seeding to allow journalists to try out new products and a targeted collaboration with some influencers on target To further amplify the visibility of The Circle.
RESULTS.
The PR activity developed over the course of the collaboration has led to significant and impactful results, solidifying The Circle's positioning as a reference in the agritech and sustainable innovation landscape. This cross-media exposure has enabled the brand to speak to a large and diverse audience, substantially increasing its visibility and recognition.

Continuous visibility has also supported the most strategic moments of the company's journey: from the plant's growth phases to investments and the launch of the new line of processed products, which sanctioned its entry into the B2C market.
Thanks to consistent and progressive work, The Circle is now perceived not only as an innovative company, but as an established player, capable of combining technology, sustainability and a solid and recognized entrepreneurial vision.
