CASE STUDY (Trusty): communicating the union of blockchain and agribusiness

Client: Trusty Year: 2025 Duration: 12 months

THE CLIENT.

Trusty is an Italian Benefit Society that uses blockchain technology for the traceability of production chains, with a specific focus on the agribusiness sector, particularly cocoa and coffee. Through its platform, Trusty offers the possibility to collect and centralize all information about the production chain: from sourcing to distribution, from the raw materials used to the date and place of origin. On the one hand, this allows the consumer to know in depth the history of the food through a QR Code affixed to the label of the products, making themore conscious purchase, on the other hand, it offers companies and suppliers tools to improve compliance and for producers and growers to consistently update the traceability of their soils.

With over 100 thousand tons of materials tracked e 50,000 farmers mapped, Trusty has already been adopted by more than 150 customers worldwide, including such important entities as ICAM Domori, Luker Chocolate and Kaoka

WHY THEY APPROACHED US: THE GOALS

The collaboration with Trusty began in February 2025, and the communication centered around the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)., effective on December 30, 2025 for large and medium-sized companies and June 30, 2026 for micro and small companies, which stipulates that raw materials such as cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soybean, timber and their derivatives Are zero deforestation.

This standard involves producers, importers, exporters, and traders who are required to provide detailed information on the origin of raw materials, including the geographic coordinates of the land of production, to ensure that they do not come from recently deforested areas. Trusty in this context acts as a strategic partner for food companies and supply chains, facilitating adherence to this legislation through a secure and transparent technology platform.

The communication and media relations strategy, led by Daniela Monteverdi e Sara Lualdi, aimed to introduce Trusty to the trade press, gaining extensive coverage in leading publications in the food, innovation and sustainability sectors.

THE PR & MEDIA RELATIONS STRATEGY

Communication activities focused on the production of targeted and strategic press releases, designed to highlight the different facets and strengths of Trusty.

These releases are designed to inform and engage a diverse audience, including corporate stakeholders, food chain operators, sustainability-conscious consumers, and journalists working in the fields of innovation, food, and sustainability.

  • First, it was Clearly and thoroughly presented how the blockchain platform works of Trusty, highlighting its crucial role in ensuring the regulatory compliance required by the EUDR. This statement outlined how blockchain technology enables accurate and transparent tracking of the origin of raw materials by providing reliable and immutable data on the geographic coordinates of production land and agricultural practices adopted.
  • An additional focus was devoted to the case studies, such as the one with ICAM, Italian chocolate manufacturing company for nearly 80 years, in which real projects and tangible results, achieved through the adoption of the platform, were illustrated. Proposing concrete examples made the operation and benefits of blockchain technology applied to agribusiness traceability more understandable and tangible, strengthening Trusty's credibility and authority in the industry.
  • Finally, special attention was paid to the new social project "Green Horizons" In which Trusty is personally involved. at Ivory Coast, one of the key areas for cocoa production globally. The release told how Trusty is working closely with local producers to raise awareness and support sustainable farming practices that respect the environment and rural communities.
